Large Demonstrations Worldwide In Solidarity With Gaza

  • Tens of Thousands of people came out in Madrid and more than 90 other Spanish cities in solidarity with Gaza

On Sunday, several Arab and international cities witnessed demonstrations demanding an end to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and in support of the Palestinian people. Hundreds of people demonstrated in Tunisia in front of the US Embassy in Tunis, in solidarity with the Palestinian people, and denouncing the Zionist aggression against Gaza.

Participants in the weekly protest, organized by the Tunisian Network to Confront the Normalization System, raised slogans demanding the opening of crossings with the Gaza Strip to bring in medical and food aid. They also condemned what they described as Arab silence and Western support for the Israeli occupation in its aggression against the Gaza Strip.

In France, demonstrations in solidarity with the Palestinians were renewed in some cities, including Paris. The demonstrators chanted slogans demanding an immediate end to the war on Gaza, condemning the international silence on what the Palestinians are being subjected to in the Gaza Strip, and denouncing France’s continued supply of weapons to Israel. The demonstrators raised pictures of Gaza children who were martyred under Israeli bombing.

In the Spanish capital, Madrid, tens of thousands of demonstrators came out to demand the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with Israel, an end to the genocide in Gaza, as well as a boycott of Israeli companies. Demonstrators in the capital, Madrid, raised Palestinian flags and denounced American and European cooperation with Israel.

They also called on the Spanish government and the international community to take urgent, concrete and effective measures against Israel, stop arms trade with it, and boycott the companies involved in the massacre against the Palestinians in Gaza. Protests continue for the second day in a row in more than 90 Spanish cities and towns, including Barcelona, which also witnessed mass marches during which demonstrators raised slogans demanding quick action for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

American cities, including Chicago and New York, also witnessed demonstrations against the war on Gaza and in solidarity with the Palestinians, and students at Columbia University in New York City organized a protest in front of the university after the police dispersed last Thursday the sit-in they had set up within the “Gaza Solidarity Camp.” The students demanded an end to the war on the Gaza Strip and an end to the massacres committed against the Palestinians.

Students at several universities around the world began protesting in solidarity with the “Gaza Solidarity Camp” at Columbia University after more than 100 students were arrested from the university campus on the grounds of their support for Gaza and their demand to stop the ongoing war.
