The Commander of the operational sector southeast of Djanet confirmed that the ANP army is ready to confront any potential threats on the southeastern border, and to confront all suspicious movements on the border strip, highlighting that the security of countries is the security of the neighborhood.

The Sector Commander explained that the visit of the information mission to the National Defense Committee of the National People’s Assembly represents an embodied form of strengthening the bond (army – nation), as it will allow representatives of the people the opportunity to see another of the fortified castles of the People’s National Army, the descendant of the National Liberation Army.

The same spokesman added that one of the most important basic tasks of the operational sector southeast of Djanet in the fourth military region is to secure and protect the southeastern borders with the states of Libya and Niger.

On the other hand, the Brigadier General stated that the security of the Algerian state is part of the security of the neighborhood, as it remains necessary to make more efforts to confront any emergency according to various possibilities.

The sector commander also highlighted the need to intensify efforts to confront all suspicious movements on the border strip, in response to tactical-operational requirements and as an embodiment of the security approach adopted by the Supreme Command of the People’s National Army, in the field of confronting various forms of security threats on the southeastern border.

The committee delegation traveled, via a field trip, to see the headquarters of the 51st Medium-Range “Surface-to-Air” Missile Regiment in the Fourth Military Region, where it received a presentation on how to organize the command at the central and regional levels, as well as the means of confronting air objects flying or heading towards the national territory. The delegation also took the opportunity to visit the special equipment hangar, before moving to the headquarters of the 441st Detection and Surveillance Radar Battalion, to get a closer look at the tasks of this battalion.

The members of the committee expressed their admiration for the tremendous efforts and professionalism shown by all the frameworks of the operational sector south-east of Djanet, stressing that this castle constitutes an ideal space for military formation and training for members of the People’s National Army forces in order to develop their capabilities.
