The head of the Department of Employment and Preparation of the Staff of the People’s National Army, Major General Belkacem Hasnat, stressed that Algeria attaches great importance to the security of information systems.

The Information Systems Security Agency, according to a statement by the Ministry of National Defense, on Monday, organized a workshop entitled “The National Strategy for Information Systems Security,” at the level of the National Preparatory School for the Studies of the Martyr Engineer Baji Mokhtar in eastern suburban locality of Rouiba in the First Military Region.

The head of the Department of Employment and Preparation of the Staff of the People’s National Army, Major General Belkacem Hasnat, during his supervision of the opening of the workshop, explained the great importance that Algeria attaches to the security of information systems.

The workshop will last until April 30, with the participation of representatives of the Presidency of the Republic, the Prime Ministry and a number of ministerial departments, as well as actors in the public and private sectors and those dealing in the field of cyber-security, academic space, and research centers.

The activities of this workshop are conducted in the form of presentations by civilian and military personnel and experts, and address major topics related to the national strategy for information systems security, such as protecting sensitive infrastructure and national capabilities to respond to cyber incidents, as well as the legal and regulatory framework and enhancing capabilities in the field of training, awareness, research and development, in addition to International cooperation, national partnership, and developing an appropriate national cyber-security ecosystem.

The Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, Army General Said Chanegriha, called on all components of the People’s National Army, in order to enable the Armed Forces to fully carry out their responsibility, in the current circumstances, and indeed in all circumstances, to be extremely vigilant and cautious, with the utmost care so as To carry out tasks with the required accuracy and rigor through effective and optimal exploitation of the human and material capabilities harnessed.
