  • Mr Ben Moubarak: “The national media scene is keeping pace with the process of building a new Algeria”

The Secretary-General of the National Liberation Front, Mr Ben Moubarak Abdel Karim, confirmed that Algeria is at the forefront of countries that respect the rights of journalism, the noble profession, and spare no effort to promote it.

Ben Mubarak explained in his speech, on Monday, on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, that the national media scene is keeping pace with the process of building a new Algeria, and that the real will of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to bring about change at the level of the media scene was mainly evident through what has been achieved. Ben Moubarak noted, “Our country has the right to be proud of the strides it has made in the field of media and freedom of expression and the diversity of our written, visual, audio and electronic media scene, which makes us truly worthy of being at the forefront of media and media freedom and at the level of confronting risks and threats and all forms of interference and domination, and we celebrate Together on this day to review the long journey made by the national media system, we stand in gratitude and gratitude to those Algerian journalists who accompanied the victorious liberal revolution.”

Ben Moubarak added, “The National Liberation Front Party’s awareness of the importance of the media as a fundamental dimension of national security and the challenges facing us at the internal and external levels in this issue,” is what prompted us to organize this symposium, to express firstly our appreciation and gratitude to all media professionals, and secondly to highlight the role The Central Bank of the National Press confronts all the challenges facing our country in the process of change and renewal and building a strong and prestigious Algeria.

The same official pointed out that media professionals realize that “fifth generation wars, or what is known as cyberwar, is the most dangerous thing currently facing our country, and since most of the users of social media platforms are young people, and given the immediate and widespread spread of what is being circulated on them, especially false information and espionage attempts, it has “It has become urgent to fortify our country by achieving media security and ensuring cyber sovereignty for websites and electronic platforms.”

Ben Moubarak reiterated that the media system is the cornerstone of any national policy aimed at achieving media security, noting that within this perspective, “we took the initiative to contribute to the ongoing dialogue between various actors in the media field in order to present the outcome of the important achievements witnessed by the media sector.” And ways to consolidate the achievements of the media system’s performance in our country are discussed. In parallel, the opinions of the broad public searching for everything new are reviewed, thus consolidating media security and, by extension, national security.”

He also added that the field of media and communication is one of the most important areas of competition and attempts to dominate in our contemporary world, and therefore our country’s effort to upgrade its media is to prove its cultural and political presence and serve the national interest, and what this requires is building an impenetrable dam that repels every danger that threatens the homeland and the citizen. .

Ben Moubarak further underscored  that Algeria, which is characterized by this independence in decision-making and choice, is exposed to hostile campaigns, conspiracies and open maneuvers from functional and terrorist entities, and the matter has become more dangerous today with the development of electronic media, which knows no borders, adding: “We have witnessed a vile operation carried out by the linked warehouse system.” The Zionist entity against Algeria through the regime known as the Picasus spy system.”

The Secretary-General of the FLN Party added, “To confront the risks and challenges facing our country, it is necessary to prepare the human element capable of confronting the existing challenges and responding to them in a manner that suits them, and developing the media policy or media content to be able to confront and respond in accordance with the developments and developments taking place in the media space, and to work To satisfy the recipient’s need for information and news and follow up on the issues raised through the national media in a way that reduces his dependence on alternative means of communication, and finally to prepare the media elite to respond, when necessary, to all the risks that society may face under any circumstances.”

Ben Moubarak stressed that the transformations that the world is witnessing at all levels, the most important of which is the communications revolution or digital technology, cyber warfare, etc., have made Algeria adopt a confrontation strategy that is in line with the requirements of the times, and to give great importance to media security, and this is to fortify Algeria and maintain its immunity against the incoming media torrent From oppressive Western environments in a world fraught with tensions, conflicts, and tendencies of tyranny and hegemony.

Ben Moubara also underlined that Algeria has achieved a qualitative leap in the media field, by providing all capabilities to the media sector to play its full role in confronting the aggressive plans targeting Algeria’s security and stability, and attempts to undermine its role, limit its presence, and spread destructive rumors against its security and stability.

The Secretary-General of the FLN Party referred to the media seminars organized periodically by the President of the Republic that fall within this perspective. These seminars were an official platform for highlighting the achievements and gains achieved in Algeria and clarifying its firm positions on various just regional and international issues such as the Western Sahara issue and the Palestine issue, stressing that The 2020 Constitution enshrines freedom of the media and controls it, especially Article 54 thereof.

Ben Moubarak also announced the party’s initiative to establish a “Media Award,” which “aims to encourage media professionals to be creative and to perpetuate media freedom, and we will inform you later of the name,” noting that this award, which will be ensured to be credible, will be a contribution from The party aims to celebrate and value excellence in the media field in all its specializations.
