Bosnian Vladimir Petkovic, the first national football team coach, was a guest at the training center of Athletic Club Paradou, a club which is active in the first professional league championship and is based in the capital Algiers.

On Monday, the management of the capital’s team published a video clip of Petkovic with his Swiss assistant, Davide Morendi, in a conversation that brought them together with academy officials.
The national team coach continues his local exploration tour, which he started from the western Algerian capital, Oran, with the aim of following the match between CS Constantine and Najm Ben Aknoun for the Algerian Cup quarter-finals, which was held at the Miloud Hadefi Olympic Stadium.

The same occasion allowed Petkovic to interact with the Mouloudia Oran club family, which played its last training session at the Miloud Hadefi stadium before facing JS Kabylie in Tizi Ouzou, on Tuesday.

On his way back to the capital, the Greens’ coach chose to stop over in the city of Chlef, where he met with the Chlef Olympic Association, who was training on the field of the Chahid Boumezrag Stadium.

Petkovic has begun preparing for the next national team’s training camp, which is scheduled to start in June, during which the Desert Warriors will face the national teams of Guinea and Uganda in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Speaking to the national media recently, the former coach of the Swiss national team insisted on emphasizing that he would give the opportunity to every local player who would prove his right to carry the national team’s shirt, and he also set the performance standard or level as a basic condition for that.

The players’ list that the coach called up last March witnessed the presence of the central defender of the Constantine Sports Club, Mohamed El Amine Madani (31 years old), for the first time, as he participated as a starter alongside Issa Mandi in the friendly match versus South Africa, which ended in a 3-3 draw.
