The Algerian national football team has maintained its stability in the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) ranking of national teams, occupying 43rd place in the new monthly ranking published on Thursday.

According to the same FIFA ranking for March 2024, the national team is seventh in Africa and fifth in the Arab world.

Under the guidance of new coach Vladimir Petkovic, the national team underwent preparatory training and played two friendly matches as part of the FIFA Series Tournament, winning the first friendly against Bolivia (3-2) and drawing the second against South Africa (3-3).

It is worth noting that in 2023, the Algerian national team was ranked 30th in the world, fourth in Africa and third in the Arab world.

But after the disappointing results at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire (held from January to February 2024), where the Greens were eliminated in the group stage for the second consecutive year without a win, the national team lost 13 places and fell to 43rd.

In the global rankings, the 2022 World Cup champions, the Argentine team, remained at the top with 1,858 points, followed by the French team, who remained in second place, while the Belgian team moved up to third and their Portuguese counterparts to sixth.

1- Argentina.
2- France.
3- Belgium.
4- England.
