On Monday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) scheduled the two-legged quarter-final of the Confederation Cup, in which an Algerian team represented by last year’s winners USM Algiers Club will take part.

Date of the double fixture against Rivers United

USM Algiers will face Nigeria’s Rivers United on March 31, the Confederation of African Football announced on its official website.

The match will be played at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt, Nigeria at five o’clock in the evening, Algerian time.

While the return leg will be played on April 7, starting at ten o’clock at night, it is likely to be played on the grounds of the July 5, 1962 stadium at the Mohamed Boudiaf Olympic Complex in the capital Algiers.

USM Algiers look forward to defending their title when they face Nigerian side Rivers, who are playing in the African Confederation Cup for the third time.

Rivers (founded in 2016) finished second in the third group after collecting twelve points, the same as the first-placed team, Ghanaian Dreams, which benefited from an advantage in goals scored.

The USM Algiers team, led by Spanish coach Juan Manuel Garrido, will face a tough challenge when they travel to Nigeria, especially as they will have to play the match during the fasting period and at temperatures of up to 31 degrees Celsius.
