The Organization of Islamic Cooperation appreciates Algeria’s efforts to support the Palestinian cause
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation praised Algeria’s role in introducing the authentic values of Islam, especially those related to tolerance, moderation, and spreading the culture of living together in peace, while promoting the dialogue of civilizations and establishing strong ties at the international level.
During the conclusion of the 15th summit of the Organization in the Gambian capital of Banjul, the heads of state and government of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation commended Algeria’s efforts to support the Palestinian cause, expressing in this regard their appreciation and support for the tireless efforts made by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and their deep appreciation for holding the reunification conference as a positive step towards Palestinian national unity, which led to the adoption of the “Algiers Declaration” on October 12, 2022.
The attendees also praised the efforts made by the Security Council to stop the criminal attacks committed by the Zionist occupation in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the adoption of Security Council Resolution 2728 (2024) calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
On the other hand, the heads of state and government of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation congratulated Algeria on the inauguration of the Algiers Grand Mosque, the third largest mosque in the world, as a center of spiritual radiance and a religious, scientific, cultural and tourism edifice par excellence.
The final statement of the summit noted Algeria’s role in introducing the authentic values of Islam, especially those related to tolerance, moderation, and moderation, and spreading the culture of living together in peace, while promoting the dialogue of civilizations and establishing strong ties at the international level.
The organization confirmed that the country has created an international scientific impact by upgrading the world-class university training system and supporting specialized research and studies in the religious field.
